What do you guys think about Zo and the Heat?

Is he going to help enough to get them over the hump if he helps at all?

At this point he would be an excellent back up if his health holds up.

Honestly, WOW, he should retire. While he can play still, I just don't think the ramifications of his playing is something a team should burden itself with. The real possibility of his agrivating his condition exists, so it does not make fiscal sense either.

But could he help the Heat? Certainly, just at what cost.

How could anyone know now how his health will hold out?

Yes it's a steal of a signing and he will help very much if he stays healthy throught.  Thus my previous thread of whether Doleac is sufficient for tight playoff games.  'Zo could be the difference maker.  Just what Shraq needs to either 1) rest minutes or 2) have 'Zo line up at his more natural position of PF.  I like the Heats rebounding potential with Zo and Shraq for spells.  Long term a good opponents  faster forwards would snack on Zos defense, but i like the option for short spells.

Zo's natural position has always been center even though his height doesn't fit the bill.  Most people ten to forget that Hakeem was only 6'10 as was Moses.

For one year, Zo was the starting center at G-Town and played that position in the NBA.  Zo has always played the 5 in the NBA.

Glad i was able to edit before any of you read "Ewing and Zo" played together. B)
Bad day for Reality.

Did Zo ever play PF?
Am i thinking of one year (maybe) whereupon Ewing played C and Deke played PF?

At any rate I do believe Zo can play PF.  If his health holds out i think the Heat would rock (in small but regular stretches) with Shraq C and Zo PF.  Speedy PFs on the other side would negate that, however in boring 80-79 Eastern Conf battles I would like to see these two in at the same time.

In his prime Zo could guard any PF except for Odom and Nowitski but he's never played PF.  Zo could be useful for defensive purposes along side Shaq but Zo's biggest value would be to back up Shaq and allow him to get some rest while not allowing the Heat to sink too far.

I hate to say this about Zo but he should just retire.  How many times is he going to try to come back at his age?  If he is still in good physical health then he should keep it that way by not trying to play pro ball.
