Hard times for Athens mascots

Crying and whinning about two olympic mascots is much more important than anything else going on in the world right now.  Read the article and other reviews about these two.  I swear the human race is doomed.

True indeed.  Mock them if you must but let's not get carried away.

I'm sure a lot of it is displacement of anger at other aspects of the Olympics, in particular the cost of running them.  Most people aren't fooled by the organizers touting the benefits of hosting the games, (most cities end up paying off the debt for years, and hosting the games didn't save Sarajevo from being bombed into rubble) and Greece isn't exactly as rich as some of the other countries that have held the games.  The net result is the doof us mascots end up being the symolic of  a lot of other problems as people ask, "we payed hundreds of millions of dollars and disrupted our city for years and THIS is what they give us?"

Can you give symolic to people who insist on complaning about mascots?
