He basically disenfranchised HALF of that city (Clip fans, all 2 of them including WOW) versus Laker fans (varies, 50%-85% of the city depending on how well they are playing.)

LOS ANGELES -- The Lakers still have half of their superstar duo.

Kobe Bryant agreed to stay with the Lakers on Thursday, spurning an offer from the Clippers, a league source told ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

The decision came one day after the Lakers traded Shaquille O'Neal to the Miami Heat for three players and a draft pick.

On Wednesday, the Clippers, in an effort to clear out enough cap space to offer Bryant the maximum they are allowed (approximately $100 million over six years), agreed to trade center/forward Melvin Ely and guard Eddie House to the Charlotte Bobcats for second-round picks in 2005 and 2006.

Both L.A. franchises made their final presentations to Bryant on Monday night. Lakers spokesman John Black confirmed that general manager Mitch Kupchak and new coach Rudy Tomjanovich met with Bryant in suburban Newport Beach while Clippers spokesman Joe Safety confirmed that team officials met with Bryant, but wouldn't elaborate.

Hey B-Rad,

You're right if Kobe would have shown he was really about winning I would have loved it.  Imagine that wanting to see basketball where the players 1st priority is truly teamwork and winning.

As is you're in your purple undies watching Laker games and rejoicing.

Whatever.

Another case of undies headed your way.  Keep the cash coming.

If you weren't so pathetic, you would be funny, Reality.

Since Kobe doesn't want to sign elsewhere, he isn't interested in teamwork and winning?

Why not recognize there are other factors here as well:  loyalty, the history of the Lakers organization, the history of the Clips organization and owner and the addition of Coach Rudy.

Well, I will say this -- you are consistent -- consistently clueless about anything regarding the Lakers!

So lemme get this straight Reality O Reily, if he goes to the Spurs he is all about team work and winning.  If he goes to the Lakers hes not? Hmm...Bush would love to have you on his fuzzy logic team.

Krishnas,

No, if Kobe wanted to stay on the Lakers thats fine.
My point is the process he took.
As for drawing out the month long Days of Our Lakers, which of course you watched daily and will swallow hook line and sinker was 100% legit and could not possibly be Kobe his his honorable agent playing games (see Boozer)....
well, your lame insults are compliments to me.
Of course he decides the day after the Shaq trade, which westkoast will continue to tell you has NOTHING to do with Shaq-Kobe.  Why not?  Because Schraq himself says so.  Of course Shraqs announcing his "trade me now" the day after Kobe got the max Laker offer also has NOTHING to do with Kobe, along with Phils firing having NOTHING to do with Kobme.  That is if you are engrossed in Krishnadom.

See thinking hoop peoples posts and comments about who has (had) a better chance, the would be Kobe Clippers and Co, or your beloved Kobe,Payton, George, Walton and Co.  Hey if they gel and play team ball great.  Most think they will be 1st round and Outers at best.  One things a fact, we'll see Kobe get his wish to Be Like Mike now.

Since this is Kobe its impossible for you to think or actually see anything but in a negative light.  Kobe, like every single other big name free agent, listened and met with teams who could potentially sign him.  Is it Kobe's fault that the media had to over-cover his every move?  No it isnt.  Funny thing is when J-Kidd was talking to a bunch of different teams, but ended up staying in NJ we didnt hear a peep from you about it.  J-kidd wasnt trying to draw things out or cause drama.  It wasnt convient that he re-signed to the Nets after Byron was fired was it?  As for the Shaq comments, he asked to be traded after Mitch made the comment they were listening to offers.  That was before the Lakers offered Kobe the max amount of money, which makes no difference because everyone knew the Lakers could and were going to offer him the max since the begging of the season.  Sorry All-Spin-Zone you cannot re-create events to fit what you believe is "Reality".  I believe when I was speaking to Ted I said I believe Kobe probably had something to do with PJ leaving, that and the fact he wanted more money.  Again, you cannot make up things to fit your point.  Keep trying tho.  God only knows how much you love to make things up when it comes to the Lakers and Laker posters.

Reality double standards, now in two flavors.  Lakers Lemon and Spurs Spearment.

Go to ESPN.coms poll and see if only Reality has thoughts that perhaps Kobme was drama queening it.

I did not rig their poll.

Yes you heard plenty from myself, Lurker, 101 and others about the Spurs wasting time on Juanna Kidd.  Before, during, as well as after.  Clear off the purple fog.  No wait dont.

Yes i can see where it is possible Kobme was really considering other teams.
You cannot see where he was possibly (probably) his playing drama-attention queen.

Don be hatin.

Uhh no I didnt hear anything from you except slurping noises at the thought of Kidd joining Duncan, because you wanted to see the Lakers dethroned.  You never once said he was being a drama queen because he looked out west and even to a few teams in the east then ended up signing with NJ.  Lurker and 101 I believe said they rather keep Parker.  Again quit trying to lump yourself in with the true fans, your colors change too much to blend in.

So is Jason Kidd a drama queen too?  How about when Duncan was being courted by Orlando in 2000 and was iffy on returning?  Oh wait you didnt like the Spurs then, I forgot my bad.

How is Kobe ANY different from every other player who has considered free agency and considered offers from different teams.

Let's name a few:
TD -- he was really considering it -- that's why he got phone calls and visits from DRob, Pop, etc.  I don't remember you calling HIM a drama queen.
Jason Kidd -- don't remember you calling HIM a drama queen when there was a chance that he would sign with the Spurs.
Jermaine O'Neal -- did you call him a drama queen?

The fact is that because it WAS Kobe, the sports media was harping on it EVERY day in the press -- that happens because it was Kobe and because it was LA.  They did the same thing when TD was shopping as well.

This continues to be your biggest problem -- you can't even be close to reasonable about ANYTHING to do with the Lakers.  It's why your posts ALWAYS reek of hypocrisy when you post about the Lakers.

As for Kobe, I'm SURE he truly stopped and considered the Clips offer -- he would be dumb NOT to do so.  Look at their squad -- Kobe would have fit well with the squad and that squad would have been a great squad.  However, I'm sure that Kobe didn't do what everyone ELSE in the sports world has done and that's forget the history of management and ownership for the Clips -- that ISN'T very reassuring and I'm sure factored a GREAT deal into the decision.  Add to it that Kobe is loved as a Laker, the Lakers are making him "the man" and I think he still feels he has a lot to prove now that Shaq is gone -- he can prove that better as a Laker than as a Clipper, IMO.  Not to mention more money to buy his wife more jewelry.

Randy and B-Rad,

Yes I did call Juanna Kidd a drama queen.  If B-Rad did not hear me call her that on Shaqs interview, oh well what can i say.  And make up all you want on me (yawn) but dont be twisting Lurkers past takes.

TD, O'neal.  TD had a better team to stay with in the Spurs.  A legit ring proves it.
If Kobadiah Springfield titles with the Purple n Gold this year (or in the next 5) that will be impressive indeed.  Of course Stern may force Yao to the Lakers by then.

I don't recall The Days of Our Spurs or The Days of Our Pacers being played for two months.  Or sappy rehearsed comments about how they always wanted to be a Spur and Pacer both before and after.

Did you see the ESPN-Lakers-ABC poll on Kobe and the whole ordeal?  Its down of course as the majority found him to be drama queen.

Don be Hatin.

Did you order those grey and black balerina shoes from E-Bay you wanted oh so bad.  Maybe if you were a good little boy last year Santa would have brought you them.  As for now I guess your Nike's are good enough to dance around.

First of all, the TD courting with Orlando lasted ALL SUMMER.  You know if you had any intrest in the Spurs then you would have known that Orlando was after him hard and he was very iffy on resigning with the Spurs.  Thats when D-Rob and Pop did everything in their power to get him to come back.  D-Rob went out of his way to get Duncan to return.   That legit you ring you brought up didnt come till 3 years later after the team got some very important pieces.   You act like LA has no chance of building up a team around Kobe.  You forget that its the biggest market in the NBA along with all the glamor and glitz that resides in Hollywood.  They can lure players to LA to play for the Lakers.  Of course that thick skull and your corky-like thought process when anything Lakers is mentioned keeps you from seeing that.  They lured Shaq away from Orlando, whos to say they cant do the same for other big name post players?  He signed a 7 year contract, not a one year contract.

Second of all Kidd's wife wasn't causing all the drama.  Kidd was thinking of leaving after what happend in the finals the previous year.  He didnt like Byron Scott, he didnt like the fact that they shipped players off the previous season, and he didn't like the direction the team was going so like every other big name free agent he explored his opinions and made some demands to return.  You would be a moron not too, especially in a big business like the NBA.  You can twist and try to re-write history all you want to fit your point.  That doesn't mean its true.  Again we asked you if you thought Kidd was a drama queen and you replied bringing up his wife....Riverdance 2k5 here you come.  Funny how it was Juwana who brought all the drama and not Kidd....yet one of the reasons why Kobe ended up signing with the Lakers in the end is because his wife didn't want to leave the area.

Of course Kobe looks like a drama queen when ESPN, MSN, FSN, and every sports publication is covering every single move.  He did not once speak to the media about anything, so again the way the media followed every step was not his fault.  He was doing what every single other big name free agent has done, including your boy Tim Duncan.

It takes alot to be a dummy....buckle your head on straight.  Although asking you to try to be objective with the Lakers is like asking G-Dubya to show us some MWDs.

I just wished that Reality would shut up or put up.  He whines incessantly about the Lakers and then doesn't actually discuss the points -- just throws things out and runs away.  I knew someone like that once but it was in junior high -- hopefully that kid has grown up by now.
