Jerry West summed up the Shaq to Sacramento trade idea, and it certainly applies to any trade of Webber to LA. You never deal superstars to teams in your own division.

JoMal, first, I wouldn't WANT Webber on the Lakers -- I WOULD like Peja and Miller though.  My post was simply that I was astonished that CWebb would WANT to come to the Lakers (same with Shaq to the Kings) after all the animosity that has gone on between the two teams and their players.

Peja is the hot trade commodity belonging to the Kings at the moment, not Webber. The likelihood of any of the core players being traded by the Kings is small, but I can not be so sure about Bobby Jackson or Doug Christie.

Trading Shaq would decimate whatever team he goes to, making the GM very vulnerable to criticism. Any trade of Shaq would have to include all the players on the other team considered "stars" or it realistically can't be done. So Dallas can't do anything unless Dirk and Nash are gone, which makes Dallas much weaker, so why would they do it. In Sacramento, Webber would have to be included, along with Bibby and Peja, so why do it?

I hear the Nets might make an offer. Maybe Memphis would try to do something, as Shaq admires West so much. I really cannot see any WC team being in the hunt for either Webber or Shaq, as neither the Kings or Lakers would want to see these guys four times a year.

Are we talking about C-webb and Shaq?  Cuz chances are neither team will see them 4 times next year.  How many teams did the Lakers face last year with Shaq being out?
