OT-WNBA brawl.
« on: July 23, 2008, 03:53:46 PM »
Anybody catch the brawl between the Sparks and Detroit?  I haven't seen a very good reply of Mahorn knocking Lisa Leslie down but from what I've seen a total punk move on his part for shoving a woman.

On a side note, when it comes to fighting there is no difference between the fighting abilities of WNBA players vs NBA players.   :D

Do you think maybe Mahorn got flash backs of the playoffs in the 80s and was applying 'Leslie Rules' ????

I think he saw "Los Angeles" on the jersey and went all "bad boy" on whoever was wearing it!   :o

He was trying to break up a fight and dude outweighs here by, what, 100+ pounds...she fell to the ground cause she lost her balanced, but of course people will blow it way out of proportion...if lisa leslie had a penis and it was an nba game no one would give a crap.

If we had gender 'equality' it wouldn't really matter cause it is pretty obvious that it was accicdental her ending up on the court.

He should not have touched her at all, he's an idiot for doing so.  If anything you should only touch/grab the players from YOUR team not players from an opposing team ESPECIALLY in the WNBA.

I won't dispute that, but if it was all male nba players, would it be as much news as it is now?

I believe not, but maybe I'm wrong,

Let's see, it's in Detroit, the coaches are Bill Laimbeer and Rick Mahorn and one their players is Karl Malone's daughter.

Give that I am stunned, STUNNED, that things got violent.

Is this the daughter that Karl Malone never spoke to?

Or is that a son?

I do believe one of those criteria have been met.

"I think Rick was trying to play peacemaker, but he's just too big," Sparks coach Michael Cooper said. "I was only trying to grab my players, and I didn't see exactly what happened, but he apparently gently tried to push Lisa away."

I agree with all sides.
1.  Mahorn was being peacemaker, but he should not have grabbed an opponents player.
2.  Mahorns role is being blown way out of proportion.
3.  Still, he should know that in todays "we want equality, but not really" environment he should not have touched any of the females, even the dykie ones.

Poor sportsmanship any way you slice it.

If leslie had a penis and this was an NBA game, who would care if Mahorn went into the stands to shove some guy?
