24 PPG for Iguodala?  Wouldn't that make him in the upper ecehlon of scorers?

Brands a 20/10 career guy, so PF production is going to go up, if you also expect Iguodala to go up 4 PPG you'd be expected like a 10 PPG increase from the sixers, or who is giving up points?

I expect Thads PPG to go up as well

Yes, it would.  Remember, Iggy has been playing out of his position his whole career.  He now gets to be a shooting guard instead of a small forward. That means he will be bigger and stronger than most of his opponents now, rather than the other way around. I think the Sixers will use him and/or Brand as the primary scorers in the half-court, with ample looks for Young and Miller continuing to score much as he did last season.

The Sixers should get a +10 per game bump in points by exchanging Brand for Evans, by itself.  Iggy should be putting up more points, on about the same number of shots. He shot .456 last season, being the only go-to scorer. This season he should get a lot more open looks and fewer contested shots. I expect both Young and Williams to increase their scoring this year as well.

If the team runs at the same pace as it did in the second half of last season, we should see the team scoring above 100 consistently, which is where most of the upper-echelon teams of last season were.

Really?  When he was starting in the back court with allen iverson, he was the point guard then?

No he played the 2A position, as AI would play both the point and shooting guard positions all by himself!

For more than half his career as a sixer he was a shooting guard...i wish people would stop talking like it's a neww position for him, it's hard to take people seriously

Maybe you should stop rewriting history, and remember that Willie Green was on the floor with Iggy and AI.
And, you should also recognize that the Sixers were vertically challenged, and had trouble putting enough tall players on the floor throughout Iggy's history with the team.  The best one they had was Chris Webber and we all know how that turned out. Once he left, the Sixers had Iggy at the 3.

Since Iggy has been the primary scorer on the team he has been at the 3 spot. It's not that the 2 will be a whole new position for him, there isn't too much difference in the roles between a 2 and a 3 anyway.  The primary difference will be the size of his opponents. Iggy is a good size for a 2, a little undersized for a 3.  At the two spot he will have the advantage in height, speed, quickness and strength.

Iguodala's role the last 2 years was completely different than his 1st two.  The first 2 years he was a 3rd or 4th option who deferred on offense and focussed on defense.  The last two years he was a primary offense on a team that lacked shooters, scorers and any kind of post presence.

Next year will be the first time he will be expected to be a main offensive weapon on a team with good scorers.  He will be expected to be a facilitator and fill a Roy like role as a guy who creates and scores.  His role as a scorer will further diminish as Young grows into the rolse of a primary wing scorer.

You can look at Iguodala's skill set and try to project how he well do this year, and future years when the Sixers (hopefully) upgrade their outside shooting.  However, regardless of position, Iguodala's role is an evolving one- one that I think he is well suited for- but a different role from what was expected from him in the past.  Scoring should be easier since teams can't lock in on Iguodala any more- but he will be expected to shoot better on the open jumpers that will suddenly become available.

Wilie Green was not a starter until this season if i recall correctly and he missed most of an entire season with a knee injury...ANdre Iguodala was a shooting guard his first two seasons here and you keep wanting to say he's never played shooting guard before, and it's just not true...

the starting lineup was iverson/iguodala/korver.  Iggy was playing the 2.
