there are actually coaches who can coach on both ends of the court -- and several who have done it without the talent that SA and LA have.
But if they can't win it all does it make them better coaches than Pop or PJ?
Having talent alone isn't enough...look at Lakers the two or three years before Jackson. So to say that Pop & PJ should not be considered is IMO a major understatement. It takes coaching talent to get egos to mesh, players to accept roles, and to motivate players through 100 games a year. Pop & PJ might not be serious contenders this year for COY (mostly because there are too many others that deserve it).....but don't underestimate how good these two really are.
