Quote
Thomas and Abdur-Rahim scored eight points apiece in the fourth as Sacramento made an 18-5 run in the final minutes, rallying from a small deficit with 8 minutes to play for a comfortable win.

But nothing is easy for this club: With 3 minutes to play during the Kings' decisive run, Abdur-Rahim and Thomas started yelling at each other on the way to the bench for a timeout. Teammate Corliss Williamson eventually separated them, and both stayed in the game.

"It's just basketball, nothing serious," Abdur-Rahim said. "Just competing, pushing each other. It's just basketball. It would be like me and my brother."

Abdur-Rahim repeatedly cursed at Thomas during the fight. These two have a history: They were fined and suspended for a fistfight in January 2002 when Abdur-Rahim was with Atlanta and Thomas played for Houston.

"It was a good game tonight," Thomas said when asked about the argument.

Well, this is just great.

While teammates blow up at each other fairly regularly, and overall, the Kings have maintained a very good rapport with each other all season, our power forwards - each of whom wants to be the starter - have a 'history'.

I suppose you could look at it as just two very competitive guys trying to outplay the other to justify their status, but that would be optimistic. But from the sounds of this little tirade, both players coming off the court, this was over something that occurred when both were playing together. THAT is never a good sign, since Abdur-Rahim is the main backup to both Thomas and Miller and gets plenty of playing time with both.
"We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty.....We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason.....We are not descended from fearful men, not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend causes that were for the moment unpopular....We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home."
