Man, I can't believe I've missed these threads -- a chance to relive my comic book years, lol.

WHY do they insist on changing story lines to fit movies?  Doctor Doom wasn't with the Fantastic Four in space -- and they weren't on a space station.  They did a pretty good job with all the characters, however, except for Doom.  Doom was a MUCH more complex person than portrayed in the movie -- and he was never out for total power (this alone sets him apart from Magneto who was out to make the world subservient to mutants).  Doom suit also gave him powers akin to Iron Man (also a great marvel figure -- one of my favorites) but Doom was also a great scorcery (fought against Doc Strange several times) as was his mother (who he was always trying to free).  Doom would never have joined forces with anyone -- at least not anyone who he could not master.  

Magneto was one of the most powerful mutants period -- he was an incredibly powerful mutant and it took the entire X Men collectively to defeat him.  However, while Magneto hated humans, he also had a streak of good in him when it came to mutants.  He did love mutant kind and it was his desire to elevate them above humans (to their rightful place, in his mind).  There were several times that he could have taken the life of Professor X but it just wasn't his goal (although he would if X would have been in the way at the right time, I believe).  Someone mentioned Wolverine -- speaking of he and Magneto -- Magneto actually pulled the adamantium skeleton from his body (yeah, that's got to hurt) and Wolverines claws from that point on were of bone.

Speaking of that -- did anyone else notice that they have the original X Men out of place?  They have Wolverine and Rogue joining at the same time -- they have Collosus and Ice Man as students.  Just not sure why they couldn't have actually produced the actually story line rather than changing it.

Also, spiderman's webbing comes from web cartridges -- not from his own wrists.  Guess it's easier to just change the whole storyline?

But for the most part, I enjoy them for what they are -- some are better some are worse (man, could they not have produced a better storyline in the Hulk?  Special effects for the most part were great -- but the story line was very poor.

I didn't mind the slight change in spiderman's webs.  The doom change, however, is borderline blasphemy.

Also, XMen was probably the closest in actual powers to the comic book without deviating (still don't like how they got the XMen out of order)!

The left out Aurora, Banshee, in addition to Colosus (all those were XMen when Wolverine was brought into the XMen).  Remember, when Alpha Flight (which became a spin off -- didn't last long) tried to return him to their team?

Also, Hulk -- they did a pretty good job of showing Hulk's powers -- however, Hulk never had tremendous "speed" as they showed in the canyon.  Hulk always either jumped out of the picture or used his brute strength.  I did love how they showed that Hulk's power was nearly unbounding -- as his anger and rage grew -- so did his size, strength and muscle.  The only bounds to his power were his own emotion.  Of course, throughout the Hulk series, he was able to harness, for a short time, keeping Bruce Banner's mind while utilizing the Hulk's strength.
