Yeah dont spoil it...I am sure D doesnt want to know that Yoda dies in this one.....

above average - this one was AWESOME.

I was reading today that while Lucas is done with the Star Wars saga, there is still the last three chapters to go...it will be interesting to see if 20th Century Fox offers to pay Lucas to write out the last three Chapters and use one of Lucas's assistant directors to direct the final movies...Spielberg [sp?] by chance???  If there were any director Lucas would trust hwole heartedly with his story it would be Spielberg...I wonder if it will happen, mark hamill looks like death now a days so I think using him as Luke would be a stretch
On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.

The movie made over 50 million $ on opening day.  The previous highest was $40 million.

Amazing.

No, he didn't back it.  At all.  In fact, it was that special that made him take tight control over the EU and have everything be approved.

I was watching this thing on star wars and it's history the night before last ans it didnt make mention of the holiday special - i just read about it in the paper today - but it did talk about how Lucas left the guilds in Hollywood because they had fined him for putting the credits AT THE END OF THE MOVIE (episode 1)...they fined him over a quarter of a million for that!

That holiday special is one of the most wretched things ever commited to film.  Badness of HISTORIC proportions.  So bad it is unholy. Even if you have a taste for so bad it's funny Mystery Science Theatre 3000 type stuff it is not enjoyable.  When I saw it on TV I was only about 8 and a passionate Star Wars fan.  Even thing I thought it was terrible.  It's so bad that some theorize that because George was in the midst of an ugly divorce at the time that his wife made it to ruin him.

When asked about it in interviews Carrie Fisher denies it exists, saying she doesn't know anything about a Star Wars holiday speicial.  Lucas and company worked hard to keep it from being seen afterward, nevertheless more bootleg copies have come out in recent years.  I know a guy who has it on DVD.

P.S. One of the scriptwriters was a guy named Pat Proft.  He was in a couple of English classes my Mom taught back in the late 60's.  Amazingly his participation didn't kill his career. He went on to do scriptwork on Risky Business and Naked Gun.

oh Please, Reality.  Lets not go pointing fingers for "Geekiness" because you have it spilling out your ears.  Episode  1 and 2, bit it bad IMO, this one made up for the two.  I did enjoy it, and yes while Lucas could have used a bit more edit - I wasnt really bothered by it so much because the backdrop was really well done in this one.  I cracked up at some of the less noticeable parts that HAD to be because these guys were working in front of a green screen.  You probably noticed the same things, but I cant really point them out since SOME people didnt want to get thier Han Solo costume out and go see the movie....not that i have a Han Solo costume....errr..... B)

Me and SpursX3 are the only ones so far to have seen?

Anyone else got definite day and time to view?

Grocery store clerk told us he has seen it 4 or 5 times.  I looked at him like what??.....then he informed that he did not go out to theater to see it.
Ohhhhhhh.  Disc form.
