C'mon WoW. One of the first words out of old Ben Kenobi's mouth is Star Wars is that Darth Vader helped the Empire exterminate the Jedi. This movie is not going to be pretty.

WoW, you are one funny futhamucka.

BTW, I recently caught a brief glimpse of a TV special about the Zapotec civilization. Man, it was totally fascinating! The way they leveled an entire mountain to build a city! Can you recommend any good books about their history?

Unfortunately the Zapotec language was not a written one, most of the Zapotec culture and history was wipped out by the Catholics.  After the Spaniards conquered the Zapotecs the Catholic church had all their cities destroyed, the only reason Monte Alban survived is because the Zapotecs buried it to hide it's treasures from the Spaniards.  There is still a portion of the city that is buried, there are plans to dig up the last remaining portion of it.

The other unfortunate things was the original escavation unvieled the ONLY treasure in the city so the diggers figured there was treasure buried in the entire city and ruined/destroyed most of the tablets that contained hyrogliphs (sic?) in thier search for gold.  No other structure contained any treasure but the damage had already been done.  To date it's the largest treasure found in the western hemisphere, probably because the Aztec treasures were plundered by the early Spaniards.

Your best bet is to just google "Zapotec" and read the varying accounts of the civilization, there are over a dozen different versions of the rise and fall of the Zapotec.

By the way, WOW, the Catholic church and it's regimes in Spain and Portugal wiped out alot of Civilizations.  It's a good thing Henry the 8th and Martin Luther came along, or we'd still be as ignorant as could be.

The Catholic church is about power and control.  They tell you you are lost, and a sinner and the only way you can get back to god is through them.  What a fricking scam!  

They control thought, belief, and the mind, and through those they controlled action in the world.  I hope the real god gives them the justice they deserve for their enslavement and vicious enforcement.  AMEN.
