One thing that has happened with the Kings over the last few years has been their willingness to move established players to get better younger players, with better salaries into the mix. The Corliss Williamson deal was the most obvious, but so was moving Tony Delk, Jon Barry, Jason Williams. The reason they are such a good team is they have made a series of very timely and intelligent moves. Petrie has managed the cap to perfection, and he has done a masterful job of building a tremendous franchise.
It seems that one of the smartest things the Kings could do is move Webber now (obviously after the season). They have found their long term replacement for Vlade in Brad Miller, and it looks like Songaila is a keeper. Perhaps it is time to move Webber and Christie for that star SG, and some front court depth. The names Bryant, McGrady, Pierce, Allen come to mind.
The reality is the Kings are doing just fine without Webber, maybe it is time to move on. They can get a younger player, a better player, and one that won't hide in crunch time.
