According to Real GM trade checker this deal does not work within the salary cap rules.  Doing my best to figure out salaries it looks like Orlando is getting back about $4,000,000 more than it is giving up.  One issue that is a problem with Real GM right now is the fact that they haven't updated the base year players list yet, that won't happen until August sometime (Lurker is that not correct?).  Francis is a base year player so trading him is very hard to do.  After August that changes, and the deal may work then, but even then I question if it will work because I don't believe the salaries match.

According to real GM this trade doesn't work either, but once again base year status applies.

I don't understand why Orlando is moving so quickly here.  McGrady is one of the most sought after players in the league, and they are going to settle for Steve Francis and Mobley?  They couldn't win with Yao, what makes you think they will win without him.  Francis is WAY overrated, in my opinion Mobley is better.

I don't know the exact date, but it is this summer.  As I recall it doesn't end until exactly 1 year has passed since he signed.  It also might be August 1st, and it also might be July 1, I can't remember the exact rule.

All based on the assumption that no one is taken by Charlotte.  Deal also has to wait until after July 1 to eliminate BYC status.
