Jeff Green gets $10 million a year?
« on: July 06, 2012, 05:52:10 PM »
What is Boston thinking?  I think $10 million a year for a swingman who is streaky is way too much money.  Does anyone think he is worth close to $10 mill a year?

Jeff Green is definitely a middle-of-the-pack forward a very average player, all things considered a below average starter.  He is worth a little more than the mid-level exemption, $5 to $6.5 million.

WS per 48 minutes is .071 for his career, and in his best season it was .105.  That is the definition of an average player.
A third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. A second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. A first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking.

A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself.

My thoughts exactly, Ziggy.  I don't understand why they overpaid for him.  He isn't a great defensive player -- he might be a knock down 3 point specialist one day but he isn't there yet.  Just don't get it.  I agree -- he should have made around $5 to $6 million a year.

Right.  This contract was crazy even if he didn't have a potentially career-threatening heart condition.

Might be a knee jerk reaction to losing Allen. I can't wait to hear how the Boston fans will greet Ray when he comes to town. The fans will be even more upset when the Heat spank Boston every time they meet.

Yeah. That's all the Heat needed was the one of the most deadly outside shooters in the league who can actually do other things on the court. You wouldn't be worried about them signing J.J. Redick.
