12-30 Sixers at Kings.
« on: December 30, 2009, 07:21:29 PM »
Sacramento has been playing well lately, but shouldn't be considered better than the Blazers at this point. In addition Tyreke Evans is doubtful for the game.

IMO, the Sixers showed an aggression on offense that I really hadn't seen before against the Blazers. Players were shooting (and making) shots in rhythm. That is the style of play that the Sixers need to make consistent, mixing drives with passes inside and shots outside. When they are executing well on offense it allows them to focus much more on defense, and puts more pressure on the other team to execute.

Looking for a Sixers win here, and a continuation of good play.

Tyreke Evans probably not playing

Of Course willie green might be available

Seems still like that favors sixers.

If Evans is out (and martin is already out) the sixers SHOULD win handily

Has a final decision been made on Green yet for tonight?  Nothing personal, but I hope he takes an extended holiday vacation.

Doesn't appear Green is available tonight, but you shouldn't be down on Willie, his stats say he's a damn good NBA guard.

Six Sixers in double figures, the offense is looking more and more like a smooth running machine, with both inside and outside scoring, timely passing and concerted defensive effort.  They really do look like they have turned the corner now. It started with the Boston game and coincided with the return of Speghts and Williams. This game Lou got back to what he was when he started the season, 20 pts. on 9-15 with 4 bds, and 4 dimes. Iguodala and Iverson also had great games.

Jordan kept Brand and Speights minutes down, I hope he was thinking ahead to tomorrow night. Kamen was very tough on the Sixers last time.  I do think the Sixers will win their revenge match tomorrow, however, now that our guards are healthy.

I think focusing on defense and rebounding will yield more wins (especially in close games) than will focusing on offense.

In fact I don't care about our offense...at all.  One iota.  Not even a little.

I also think AI's return has led to the team's better play and increased confidence.  As I had predicted: he was what the doctor ordered. 8)

I hate that Holiday didn't play in the 2nd half after a pretty aggressive 5 minute stint in the first half.  Makes you wonder if we'll start seeing DNP-CD's next to his name when Green returns.  If so, I won't be happy.

Also, what is up with Smith coming off the bench before Speights lately?  Nothing against Smith, but Speights is the superior player and should be getting in the game first.  Just 14 minutes for Marreese last night... still no consistency in Jordan's rotations.

Maybe Speights knee is acting up since he came back much earlier than people said?

Possible, but more than likely it was just EJ being EJ.

It's a combo, imo.

Maybe he feels Speights gets plenty of minutes and that Smith's 11 isn't excessive.  He might also be starting to see what me and Brand have been bitching about: Speights defense sucks and his rebounding is maybe worse.  He's barely half a player.

But I know, I know.  Everyone loves the offense.  It makes for better highlights. ;)

We goin' on a 3-game win streak??

Ok, I see that on Speights rebounding/defense, but is Smith really going to be an improvement?

Well he certainly brings more energy to that side of the court...but, lately, I'm none-too-impressed by his play either, truth be told.

This may have been a little premature.

I just figured it out - Rick is RickoT on LB - it makes sense now
