I think the Brand injury made deciding on moves a bit more difficult.  They did not get to see if they could make things fit better with a new coach.

In a way this may force their hand with Miller.  With Sam they can wait to see if he and Brand will mesh once Brand comes back, but with Miller it is trade him now or maybe get something minimal in an off-season S&T.  Based on his play with Brand so far there is no way he should be extended.  My only concern is that they extend him because there is no more palatable replacement out there.

Hence why i want them to trade him to eliminate that possibility - because it'll be for too long and too many dollars - and it will make me sad

I wonder if Sam will try and force a trade?

Hire Leo Rautins as our next coach and you just might see that happen.  :D

0-6 with lots of talk about "quality losses."  Then, when they are in a really deep hole and the pressure is off, they will start winning games.

Stop me if this sounds familiar.

They have already started talking about quality losses.  Trying to win the battle of low expectations.  I guess if you can't actually win games...

Quote
"Coming in and playing against a good Denver team, we had a double-digit lead," DiLeo said. "We took a step in the right direction."

Quote
"We played well enough to win," Sixers swingman Andre Iguodala said. "We just didn't."

Quote
DiLeo called it "a tough game" and said he was "proud of the players."

"They played their hearts out," he said.

Great, have they earned their second place honor badge yet?

A team should say something after this game like: We deserve to lose when we miss our FT's- and then lock themselves in a gym and shoot FT's after windsprints.  But its easier to praise yourself for 'a good loss.'

In a typical NBA game there are always runs by both teams except in the occasional blowout.  Moral victories simply mean being good enough to lose.

It's not a moral victory when you blow a 17 pt. lead.  It shows that you have a team that has no killer instinct and doesn't know how to win.

Moral Victories are just for losers

Zach Randolph out for 1-2 weeks - so it makes it seem like the sixers really should win that game

So they probably won't

Useless stat of the moment:

The Sixers are last in the league in 3pt % (a hair under 30%.)

The other teams in the bottom 5 have an average record of:
7W 23L

That is some impressive company.  I guess you do need to be able to shoot a little bit from distance.

This from a RealGM post:

WIP so take it with a grain of salt.

Reading this is too scary to even contemplate.  Sounds like a Larry Brown type move or harkens back to CWebb type desperation.  This is the exact type of Sam trade they must not be suckered into.

I went into that hoping at least Kenyons deal would be shorter.  it's not.  He has a player option for '10-'11, which he'll surely exercise.  No way do I even contemplate that deal.

Why would we even want another undersized PF with injury issues?  I am calling complete baloney on that trade, it is just someone responding to the Martin dunk over Sammy.  It would be one thing to take a risk on a guy with a longer term deal like Nene, at least he brings something to the table that might be useful, but martin would have no role on this team.
