It was poor planning and casual gaming does suck.  I much rather have my playstation or even an XBOX360 WAYYY before the Wii.  It's not even fun to play any of the games that come out on it anymore.

And as I understand it, the 'best reviewed' game on the wii (boom blox) was a huge bomb while people keep buying shovelware.

Admittedly, I see games like guitar hero and such as 'casual gaming' - all party games and the like to me are casual gaming, but i remember going to the arcade to play decathalon and use that piece of wood so you could push the buttons faster.

I still think the Wii shortages are artificially created by Nintendo to make it seem that there is higher demand than there actually would be with 'adequate' supplies.

As far as hot electronics, i'm pretty sure the iPhone is still pretty hot...i don't know if the new 4 GB nanos are hot...xbox prices are dropping so sales numbers might go up but net revenue will go down

I would think in a recession type economy, the things have cooled off generally, the only xbox game i was looking forward to that has been released already is the force unleashed and the reviews are terrible

New IPOD and IPHONE are hot sellers.  As is the Wii.  XBOX is selling well in Japan but both the XBOX and PS3 are lagging behind the Wii here in the states.  Don't ask me why but they are.

Also the newest generation of Blu Ray players are starting to gain some steam as they've dropped in price and you can update firmware via the internet.

Ones coming up?  New Blackberry Curve coming out next month and the google backed phone.
