No other information given. Would be nice for the minimum.

It has to be a minimum deal which I imagine is like Ivey's... 2 years. As listed on another thread here, Rush was the numero uno guy I wanted from the list of FAs left on the market.

Ed is really doing a bang-up job this summer. I mean... all of his moves have made sense thus far. I'm simply not used to this.

A good min move, but I wonder how well he will do shooting in the clutch.  We could use a 3 pt shooter who is a bit more experienced in big games- but I doubt someone like Finley would sign here.

I guess at least we know the guy can shoot, and his "clutch time" stats on 82games are real good (if limited.)

Do you see him logging being able to give sig minutes at SF if either Young or Iguodala miss a game or are in foul trouble?

I think Rush can log minutes at the 3 if needbe especially since we've seen Mo run extremely small lineups in the past. If Iguodala or Young miss a game or two, we could see Rush get a lot of minutes since he would be the ONLY backup SF on the roster.

It looks like Ed is doing the best he can given his limited resources.  No way Finley is coming to Philly for the min, and better SG/SF's like Mo Evans don't player for <1Mil.  I'd rather see an Eddie House, but again not an option; at least he is getting some NBA quality players (if barely so) who are specialists either as shooters or defenders.

I think next summer the Sixers might attract a big name vet or two to sign for the contenders senior discount rate- but at least for this year they are filling out the roster with players that can fit a need and have some NBA experience.

This is solid, nothing major but he'll probably win a game or two when he gets hot and otherwise we'll never hear from him.

This and the Ivey signing is exactly why it's so freaking stupid to give Willie Green a 5 year deal. You can pick guys up at around the same level for pennies.

You are talking about the starting SG for a playoff team.

You sound like that poster (I forget his name) who says you can replace Iguodala for half the price with Roger Mason Jr or Jemario Moon...

:P Just kidding- of course you are right on the mark.

I'm torn. I've always thought Rush would be an excellent pickup, but my disdain for Eskin and the fact that he's reporting this keeps me from being as happy as I should.

This is about the best minimum signing you could hope for IMO.

I was a little surprised he could be had for the minimum. But he was actually not in the league the year before last.

I don't see anything about this anywhere else, but it seems like it's too small of a signing for Eskin to go to the trouble of making up.  Presuming it's true, I agree with the consensus here that he is the best minimum salary guy to help with our shooting and wing player deficiencies.  Unless something big suddenly blows up it would appear that Stefanski is building the bottom of the roster based on an expectation that Iggy and Lou will both be here this fall.  Assuming they are the roster so far has 12 players:

Elton Brand
Thaddeus Young
Samuel Dalembert
Andre Iguodala
Andre Miller
Lou Williams
Willie Green
Jason Smith
Marreese Speights
Reggie Evans
Royal Ivey
Kareem Rush

Anyone on the roster or reported to be signed that I missed?  Three spots to fill, with one likely to go to Jamont Gordon or Junior Harrington from summer league play.  The team looks deep at PF and SG, reasonably deep at C and PG and a little thin at SF, although Iggy will play there a lot.

I like it.... hopefully it's true.

As far as hitting clutch shots... I recall Rush shooting lights out in an elimination playoff game a few years ago when he was on the Lakers.  I could very well be wrong, but I believe it was against Minnesota when they made their run with KG, Cassell, and Spree.  Rush flat out went off in that game.

He was the first one to report that the Sixers were close to signing Brand when everybody else thought a Josh Smith offer was imminent. Like him or not, he obviously has sources who are credible.

I was just about to say that Eskin was on top of the Brand signing when it the Sixers were still considered to have a little shot of landing him.

Do you think (not do you WANT) that Kareem Rush will be ahead of Willie Green on the depth chart???
