There isn't a post jem makes that isn't combative.  I'm hoping he tones it down here.  But you know what they say...."fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again." 

When jem sticks to discussing basketball, then he's a great poster.  When he gets to proving right and wrong, then he gets extremely combative.  I think sometimes we need to remember that this is a place to discuss basketball, not to prove basketball acumen and intellect.

Agreed. I didn't mean to be confrontational. I think I'm just done with any discussion that seems combative, and would rather not get into it. If that means being a little sensitive to it, I'm cool with that, as I'd rather just play it safe.

I'm all for differences of opinion, and I have ALWAYS been about supporting your opinions (Especially with some RGM posters), but I don't come on here to prove I know what I'm talking about. I come to share thoughts.

As for Jem... I think he's a great poster and I love reading most of what he writes but as we know... we all get a little pissy sometimes... he just takes it a little farther I guess but that's usually when I walk away or post a video of a 3 year old girl (not porn, Anklebreaker!!).

Getting back on topic, if we keep Miller... can anyone see us doing anything other than re-signing Kevin Ollie? I can't. I don't think Ed wants to bring in another young PG to compete against LouWill and that's a shame.

I could see it...only because even if Lou Will ended up being the successor, we'd need diversity at the position, and a solid back-up. I would imagine they'd want Lou to grab minutes at the 2 as well, so we'd need a solid second option. Though Ed has said how strong next year's draft is an point. Maybe he's just banking on it and worrying about one thing at a time?

Hey guys, since the discussion over here is a little more civil... 

(1) Do you think the Sixers will wait to move Miller until after AI and LW is resigned, so not to discourage either signing (AI because of how important Miller is to offense and LW so that he still thinks he is the incumbent PG)?  Or is Ed just sold on Miller for next year, even though we know that our chance of resigning him is only ok at best?

(2) There's been some talk on the RealGM board about Mo Williams from Milwaukee.  I know his defense is suspect... but he's a decent 3P% and likes the up-tempo game.  Could a PG platoon of he and LW work (assuming AI plays the 2) offensively and defensively?  Admittedly, that's a lot of $$$ (roughly 14-15 million) at the PG spot for two smaller combo guards.

BTW, a straight Miller for Williams trade would free up an extra $1.5 million on this years cap.

I guess the way to look at it is that Ed figures on the next year's draft having a lot of PGs and he has 2 picks. Then again, when was the last time a team packaged 2 first rounders to move up? I know it's happened but I can't remember when....

Are we going to be able to get the starting PG of this team's future with pick #17 or pick #25 in the draft? I doubt it and we'll probably end up moving #25 at some point this summer or in a trade for cash to Portland next year.

If Ed gets his man, HWMNBN, then I think a lot of questions we have will be set aside since the roster will remain mostly intact and Ed can bring back Ollie. If Atlanta matches though... I think Ed has to address a lot more than just the PF. I think he then needs to really look at LouWill and answer if he's going to be the guy to take over for Miller.

Also... does anyone here think Miller re-signs in Philly? I personally think there's NO chance of that happening.

No.  He's a "West Coast" guy, ya da ya da...

However, where on the West Coast will he go?  Seattle just drafted Westbrook (and will be in Oklahoma), Portland has Blake and Bayless and the Suns have Nash.  The Clippers just signed Davis and the Kings just signed Udrih.   He doesn't fit with what Nelly wants to do in GS (admittedly, he may opt out). 

Maybe the Lakers (to replace Fisher) or back to the Nuggets (even though they won't have much cap room)?

Why didn't we ever talk about this before... he was once in LA and left by his choice to go to Denver. Now, Denver is obviously West of us... but it certainly isn't the West Coast. Are we making more out of this than we should be?

Not a fit for the Lakers, their system requires PGs who can shoot generally and shoot the three specifically.  Miller would be a good fit in Denver, but they won't have cap room to sign him unless they renounce Iverson and they are a poor match-up with us in a direct trade.  Miller played pretty well here last year in an up-tempo system, while admittedly he is not the pure scorer that Baron Davis was for them, I am not so sure I would rule out GS as a possibility.  Miller may be more of a fit in GS than some people think.
