Board Guidelines/conduct- Now O.T. and Adrift

I think most of us still post elsewhere too, but it serves as a good retreat when RealGm gets combative.  I'd say this is a older, more nerdy/serious Sixers board.

It does have a really good mix of good posters from Philaphans and RealGM.

I've definitely cut back over at RealGm... probably won't contribute much over there until free agency blows over and most of the new posters have fled. 

For the moment, this is my preferred forum.  There's no quarrels, no trolls, and steady discussion.

Was it ever decided if we could find a way to invite SF76?

Like I said before, if theis was where SF1976 posted we would be over run.

As dabods has said, if things do get out of control over here... he doesn't have to go through any of the red tape to fix the problem as he has to over on realgm. I still like reading SF76's reports but I have my doubts as to how accurate they are.

I think SF's posts are accurate at the time, and no i don't think he's amember of the froont office, our last source, i figured out that his friend was on the training staff...from a bunch of stuff....but he lost that job.

I think SF doesn't ALWAYS get the information, but he'll get periodic updates, so he'll get the info at the time, but if he doesn't talk to his guy for a couple weeks it'll look like he was wrong when the thinking changed...

I think if you talked to Ed Stefanski, the majority of what he tells you (even if he's being honest) would come out "not true".  When SF has said "this is going to happen", it usually happens.  But on things that are not definite?  Nobody can tell you with even good accuracy.

This has been bugging me for a while, primarily because your statement about doctors being sued irritated me, especially coming from a lawyer, and we all know how much lawyers are respected.

I think it's perfectly civil and legitimate question...a 19 year old lawyer is pretty impressive wouldn't you say?

But it seems in your view trying to ferret out the truth from fiction is not 'civil'?

Oh jem, how I love when you infer something that is not true from my statements.  You do it often enough.

While the second chair is usually an attorney, it is not and does not have to be the case.  I'm working as a pseudo-Paralegal without any training.  But really, there's no training involved in turning on a laptop and keeping track of evidence.  And tbqh, I don't think your job should have any bearing on how much you are respected as a person.  There's plenty of crooked CEOs (and lawyers, doctors, etc.), and I'm sure there are plenty of very nice, respectable garbage collectors.

And I would agree that a 19 year old lawyer would be impressive.  The only thing about your post I would say isn't civil is generalizing all lawyers as people who shouldn't be respected.

I'd say it's the eqvuialent of taking glee in doctors being sued, except more people (including Shakespeare) would agree with my sentiment...next time you wanna generalize like that think about the people who post here and that they might have relatives that were, i don't know, needlessly and unecessarily sued repeatedly in their medical career with patients spurned on by money grubbing amublance chasing lawyers out to make a quick buck.

Our medico-legal system is messed up, just like our medical system (if you can call it that.)  There are good and bad doctors and lawyers, and many are just a product of the system (attack dog lawyers and over-defensive/over-treating doctors.)
