breaking up the big 3 and replacing them with average players
Who is the 3rd member of this *Big 3* you allude to?
Dirk, your media MVP darling Nash and ?

Findawg.  I hope it doesn't to your head.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

I think they replaced Finley with Howard --- which is pretty good, and they replaced Nash with Jason Terry who does everything Nash does but pass.

They have gone younger this year playing guys like Bass, Barea, and Harris.  Instead of last year where they played vets Austin Croshere, Adrian Griffin, and Anthony Johnson.  When you replace vets with youth, you'll undoubetly have growing pains.  I might be wrong but I think Dallas has figured out nothing is won in the regular season but a giant target if you're going for 70 wins.  They're pacing themselves.

No, my idea of "Big 3s" are multiple title holders (or contenders) and legit top 25 players.
I realize your standard is quite lower. Findawg was never such on Dallas.
Altho one of those Spurs-Dallas series was indeed the Finals.
Findawg was never a top 25er.  Altho he has gotten better since joining the Spurs, he is definitely a role player and happy to be one.

Since you are a bandwagon fan I guess I should not have expected you to know that Fin/Dirk/Nash were called The Big 3 in Big D, has nothing to do with my standards.  I'll try and keep my posts to you on a bandwagon level.

Now Randy errr WoW, you know how much calling me a "bandwagoner" affects me.
You are thinking of the Phoenix Suns East.  Yes they had some real pretty reg season stats.  What Dallas folks called the "Big 3".  That Big 3.  Okay.

I was thinking of Dallas, hence the TITLE of this thread.  I am not the one who is confused, like I said, I'll bandwagon down my posts to you.

I'm with WayOut on this one, Reality.  When discussing Dallas's old "Big 3," how could one not know that folks were referring to Finley, Nash, and Nowitzki, since all of them were All-Star Level players - Finley even being a selection for USA Basketball's 2002 World Championship of Basketball team?

Yes, Reality, Michael Finley did have a career before he became a Spur.

I'd also like to add that SA had a team called the Spurs before they started winning championships.

You know what's funny?  I consider myself a bandwagon fan.  After all, I'm not devoted specifically to the Jazz, and I didn't consider them my favorite team in 2003 until we got Gordan Giricek in exchange for DeShawn Stevenson (hhaakkk---ptui!).  I mean, outside that stretch, I've only cheered for them since 1994.

You've been a Spurs fan for HOW long, Reality?

You are not a bandwagon fan though.  You don't just jump on any team who's winning championships then start pretending to be a huge favorite.

Reality started off as a Celtics fan, then he was a fan of any team that could beat the Lakers, then he became a Spurs fan, with a tiny dip as a Miami Heat fan, then back to the Spurs again.

In all honesty I do not think Reality is a bandwagon fan, he's actually a closet self loathing Lakers fan.  No Laker fan on this board starts HALF as many Laker/Kobe threads as Reality.  No Laker fan on this board hijacks 1/10th the threads on this board with Laker talk like Reality.

If it walks like a Laker fan, quacks like a Laker fan then it must be a ......

By the way how did the Spurs do against the Nuggets last night?  Wonder why nobody has started a thread about that game?

Priceless.

 :D :D :D :D :D

BTW: I'm a bandwagon fan, too.  I've cheered for Magic Johnson's Lakers, Hakeem Olajuwon's Rockets, Shawn Kemp's Sonics, George Karl's Bucks, and Andrei Kirilenko's Jazz in that order, although no team has really matched the adoration I had for the Sonics (94-99).  I've strongly resisted the urge to full on become a fan of Manu Ginobili's Spurs, and Manu is always making it harder--good thing Pop is still their coach. ;)
