embedded YouTube NBA games
« on: December 15, 2007, 11:42:31 PM »
How do you find a particular play of an NBA game on YouTube?
Or is it just plays that makers have given a title?

Or can you pick a point in time of the game and find it on YouTube.  In other words is the whole game on Youtube?
Also do any of you know how to make a YouTube vid from a game you recorded?

You can pick a point in time if you want but there is a 10 minute limit for each clip so they have to break em up.  For example I typed in nba playoffs 1986 and got these:

edit:  I forgot DB has turned off embeding code into the posts =/  You can still click those blue hyperlinks and it will open the youtube video tho.

Part 1

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9_732Kb6yVM&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9_732Kb6yVM&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Part 2

Part 3

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tN9RZwps5HM&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tN9RZwps5HM&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Also you can type in specific players or movies that will have games as well.  Like if you type Michael Jordan 63 points it will bring up the game above but a bunch of high light clips.  Or like they have these Lakers DVDs I have where it talks about all the championship years, if you type the name of the DVD in it will show up as well.

As for making a vid from a game you record you need to have an accoun there.  Super easy to setup...here is from youtube itself about the other details

YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG transferred from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones.

We've found that files converted from .wmv to one of the other formats our webpage accepts generally have a lower playback quality than other file formats. If you have your source video in a format other than a .wmv file, you may want to encode directly to MPEG4 (DivX, Xvid, SVQ3) at 640x480 resolution, with 64k Mono MP3 Audio. If you have a source .wmv in high bitrate and larger resolution you may want to convert to MPEG4 at full resolution and then resizing to 320x240 using a high quality resizing algorithm - this can help reduce the number of artifacts you end up with.

I would love to see this board use more youtube videos to discuss certain things.  I think it brings another element to the board although I know some people have youtube blocked at work =/
