Lakers PF problem set to be solved?
« on: June 29, 2007, 01:34:53 PM »
The Los Angeles Lakers are rumored to be in talks with Dog the Bounty Hunter aka Duane "Dog" Chapman to fulfill their upcoming seasons need at power forward.  Mitch Cupchak and the Lakers have been working around the clock to present a deal in which Minnesota would gain the Lakers last pick in the draft in exchange for the Lakers being able to pursue a contract offer with Dog.  Allegedly the Dog has ties with GM Kevin McHale and MN ownership.

A snag could be that Dogs husband, err wife Beth has said she will not allow Dog on the court without her.  Lakers are proposing signing both of the Chapmans thus giving them the power and muscle they have lacked with such beanpoles as Brian Cook.

As part of the deal, Dog who lives in Hawaii, has said the Lakers have cooperated and said they would again have training camp in Hawaii.  No word yet on whether Kobe Bryant has signed off on all of this.

(AP) Chapman Acquisition hits Snag.

Kobe Bryant is allegedly furious over the Los Angeles Lakers decision to acquire Duane "Dog" Chapman and his wife Beth to play power forward for the team.  Sources say Bryant felt he should have been told in person by Jerry Buss of the Lakers plans, and been chauffered by limosene to the hotel where Dog was staying so that he could be the main part of the press conference.
The sources say with Dogs show "Dog the Bounty Hunter" drawing ratings on par with the Lakers, Bryant is very threatened by Dog, and that he feels his position as the Lakers #1 entertainment draw is in peril.  "Dog has a very dramatic show and nature, and Kobe is concerned."  Bryant asked for an immediate trade, then renigged, then again asked for a trade.

Mitch Kupcake has issued the following statement.  "The Lakers wish to let their fans know that Kobe remains the main focus of our team.  We rely on him for drama both now and into the future."

Bryant denied all reports, however his agent says his client has not changed his stance.

That is only in cases where the comic has a brain.

Brainy Lakers posters!  Hahahahahaha!  That's funny!

In fact, that was funnier than the first two messages...put together.

...which just goes to show you how lame the first two messages were...or rather, weren't.

You had it right the first time Joe.  Less lame does not make something funny, or unlame to the lamemen.

Wow.  I did have it right the first time, based on what I said.  The pressure of work is obviously getting to me.

My message was SUPPOSED to say, "...which just goes to show you how funny the first two messages were...or rather, weren't."

Meaning changes entirely with the wrong word.  My bad.
