Shaqs current condition
« on: October 09, 2006, 11:31:53 PM »

I'm tracking the date of photo down, but if current I would say thats as trim as he has looked since the summer of Switch.
Update:  photo reported to have been taken at the Superman Returns premiere in June 2006.

Anyone have a current photo?

Oct 6th.  Puffed up a little, but all in all a good hibernation for Shaq compared to other "winters".

In his jersey the day before.

I only saw a bit of the opener and Shaq was on the bench, Chicagos blowout 42 pt win over The Heat.

How did his weight and conditioning look?

Weight didn't look to be a problem but energy level and movement was.  I don't know what to chalk it up to but it was pretty pathetic last night.  At least from an activity stand point.  He was not aggressive on the glass nor was he all that aggressive to fight for position.

There is no excuse for a team of this caliber, tired or not, to be losing to 2nd tier teams by 42 points.

Well he definately fattened up over the summer, although not as bad as his last few years as a Laker.  Shaq didn't blow up like a ballon so I think the weight he gained over the summer can be "played" off durring the regular season.

I expect the typical 10 to 15 game "vacation" Shaq will take durring the regular to get rested for the playoffs.  I expect the Heat to get knocked off in the second round this year.
