Gooden  for Jaric/Wilcox

GREAT trade for Cleveland.  Jaric might be the perfect pg for them.

This is a very good trade for Cleveland.  they lose a player that needs the ball a lot in Gooden, got a PF in Wilcox who will do the dirty work, and a very solid and underrated player in Jaric.
Why the Clipps want Gooden, when they already have Brand and Maggette at the forwards, doesn't make much sense.

The rumored Marko Jaric sign-and-trade involving the Cavaliers is fictional, a league source said.
The rumored deal had the Los Angeles Clippers signing Jaric and sending him to the Cavaliers, along with power forward Chris Wilcox, in exchange for power forward Drew Gooden.
The source said there's no truth to the rumor.
The Cavaliers are in the market for a point guard and are very interested in the 6-foot-7, 217-pound Jaric. They also don't have the necessary salary-cap space to sign Jaric, who wants a contract starting around $5 million a season. The only way to acquire Jaric would be a sign-and-trade.
The Clippers, who start Elton Brand at power forward, probably would bring Gooden off the bench.
There is a possibility the Cavaliers might prefer Jaric over Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius, who is mulling over offers from Utah, Indiana and the Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers are also supposedly interested in Wizards shooting guard Juan Dixon, who has averaged 8.2 points and 1.6 assists in his career.
The NBA notified teams that the moratorium will be lifted at 6 p.m. Thursday. Teams can sign free agents and announce any trades at that time. The league is also expected to announce the salary-cap figure at that time.
