I think you SoCal people have mud on your brains.  The only neon sign needed is to explain that newborns in Texas are smart enough to get Ted's reference....which would mean that Texan newborns are smarter than California grown ups.   And for someone to reply "good one, Ted"  would tend to imply....for those smart enough to understand imply....that they understood Ted's reference.

I regretfully agree with you on those points Lurker.  Although I must point out that, unlike Californians, Texans get dumber with age so unfortunately a Texass newborn is at the pinnacle of its synaptic capability on day one with only regression to look forward too.
