Yes Dubya tries to be loyal but the slams against Rummy are coming from his own party now. Just this week I have seen him RIPPED into by Trent Lott, John McCain, Weekly Standard editor William Kristol and longtime CIA/Intelligence player Bobby Ray Inman. Even people trying to defend hims against the armor questing incident can't really muster much. Hoping the public will view it as some sort of unfair liberal media "gotcha" journalism isn't working. No one can deny the question was important and Pitts, the reporter who prompted the questions, is apparently a lifelong Republican from good ol' coservative Tennessee.
Under normal circumstances I would assume Rummy is gone after the Iraqi elections. However, given the Bush admins ferocity in trying to maintain the appearence of unanimity and never admitting mistakes I expect him to hang on for a while longer.
