Spurs fans what do you think?

The Denver Nuggets have zeroed in on San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili as their top priority in free agency if their long-shot pursuit of Kobe Bryant falls short and are believed to be planning to make a huge offer to Ginobili in the coming days, league sources tell ESPN's David Aldridge.

Ginobili visited Denver last weekend before returning home to his native Argentina, where he plans to be wed this coming weekend. Ginobili is hoping to have a deal in place by then.

The Nuggets have hosted several free agents since the beginning of the month, including Los Angeles Clippers guard Quentin Richardson and Portland Trail Blazers forward Darius Miles, and team officials have been in contact with Bryant as well.

Nets restricted free agent Kenyon Martin will be in Denver on Wednesday. But if the Nuggets make their expected offer to Ginobili, they would be out of the Martin sweepstakes.

If Denver does make an offer to Ginobili the Spurs would have 15 days to match it. If they opted to match it, Ginobili would return to San Antonio. If not, he would become a Nugget.

Elsewhere, a source tells Aldridge that the Nuggets will hire current WNBA coach and former Los Angeles Laker star Michael Cooper as an assistant coach. Cooper has coached the WNBA's L.A. Sparks to two league championships and is considered a rising coaching star. The Nuggets' current head coach, Jeff Bzdelik, was not given a coaching extension and is entering the final year of his three-year contract.

Also, the Orlando Magic are expected to hire Clifford Ray later this week as an assistant coach. Ray has been an NBA assistant for many teams, including the Nets and Wizards, and is viewed as an outstanding "big man" coach. The Magic took 6-foot-11 high schooler Dwight Howard with the first overall pick in last month's draft.

You forgot:

No GNob and No Kobe.

Ouch!  Talk about devastating!  Kobe could end up screwing two franchises at the same time.

Denver offers GNob big money and SA balks in the hope of landing Kobe who gave a verbal indication to goto SA ala Kidd.  Kobe then signs with the Clippers screwing both the Lakers and SA!

Spurs will only let Manu go if they have a signature from Kobe.  Spurs will have until July 29th to match any offer Denver makes.  If Kobe doesn't sign before the 29th expect the Spurs to match.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

I know, just pulling a Reality.

What if they get Kobe to sign on the dotted line but Pop spills coffee on the contract a few days later and Kobe doesn't re-sign?

This makes for an interesting chess match.

Spurs opponents could offer GNob the max, having no intention to sign him but rather to simply jam up the price the Spurs pay for GNob.

Anyone think of NBA history moves as such?
Or instances where it backfired, where opponent offered big bucks to RFagent only to have RFagent accept their offer.

(The Denver example is not the best since Im sure Denver would welcome GNob signing but you get my drift)

Some people are dissing the Orlando Magic GM but i say kudos for getting what you can.  Look what might happen to LAL.  Granted it would have seemed like no way could they trade Kobme in the 4 HOF year.  However, think if they would have done a TMac-Kobe midseason.  Could Kobe have vetoed that?  Put it on above thread if you would please.

Spurs WON"T offer Manu the MAX. Were utilizing him as a bench player who plays limited minutes. Pop dosen't operate like that, if Denver offers Manu a long term deal, Pop would not match. He learned his lesson with Malik, he likes to have flexibility.
