Does/did preseason matter?
« on: October 25, 2010, 11:26:44 AM »
He's not pounding the table dogmatically but has some interesting stats.
Not as to who will title (or *title) but rather who will make playoffs.
Very good record in preseason seems to mean auto playoff appearance.
Good news for the Memphis Lakers at 8-0 and hey maybe even MN Timberwolves at 6-2.

exerpt: In the past six seasons (2004-05 through 2009-10), 11 teams have gone through the preseason either undefeated or with just one loss. All 11 have made the playoffs. In the same time, eight teams have won just one game - or haven't won any - in the preseason. Only one of the eight, the 2007-08 Cavs, made it to the playoffs.

Not good news for New Orleans and also Clipper Fan (as usual).  Can you say "contraction"?
