Celts semi-gave that one away
« on: May 25, 2010, 02:21:14 PM »
In spite of two super bogus late calls (Stern making sure the Celts rest time is no more then the Lakers?), Boston pretty much gave that one away.
All due respect to the Magic, the Celts were better the last half of the 4th up until the final possessions.

The beautiful team ball the Celts have been displaying, then in the clutch Pierce twice goes into Kombe mode.  No ball movement at all by the Celts on 1 or 2, just throw it to Kobme, i mean Pierce and stand around.  Bricks the jumper on #1 then on the final play of reg tries some between his legs crap and ends up nary even getting a shot off -turning the ball over.  Get off your glory horse, Pierce.  Teamball is what brought the Celts the title in 2008 and had them looking great so far in 2010.

Bottom line Jameer Nelson is the new Boston Strangler.  The Celtics are an experienced team that knows how to close out games and it looked like they were going to cruise to a victory until Orlando put their foot down.  Even thought the Celtics tried to fight back they couldn't get a score and Orlando could. The Celtics have no one to guard Jameer and he is a baller.

Boston is the better team all around, but Orlando is a very good team, better than their play in the series thus far. If they can keep pushing the ball they can get Dwight easy baskets and free throws, because they are younger and faster. If Boston plays to their potential they win, but Orlando can stop them enough to overcome that. Boston is old and it doesn't matter what they did before, the ball isn't going to go in the hole just because they won one before.
