I would have done it last year but he played crappy against LA in the playoffs -- instead I gave props to the players who deserved it like TD, Speedy Jackson and Rose.
Parker 14.8 pts, 40.5% fg, 33.3 % 3 pt, 2.99 asst/to, 2.8 rebs

Jackson 8.3 pts, 32.7% fg, 18.8% 3 pt, 0.82 asst/to
Speedy 6.5 pts, 51.7%fg, 0.00% 3 pt, 3.28 asst/to
Rose 4.8 pts, 41.9% fg, 0.00% 3 pt, 4.3 rebs

Yes, you obviously gave your props to the right players in last year's series.  I am so sorry to have doubted your mental faculties.   :o

Other than Jackson, who hit some critcal 3's, all those guys did out play Parker. I though Speedy was a Laker killer with his uptempo attack.

Actually if the smog hasn't got to my memory I believe it was Speedy off the bench with Steve Kerr that really did the Lakers in.

Jackson was 3-16 from behind the arc.  All those "critical" 3s didn't offset his almost 3 turnovers per game.

Rose is difficult to compare to Parker.  They play such different games (inside vs outside, power vs speed) that to try to compare contributions is difficult.  Also Rose's biggest contribution IMO is defense against Shaq.

Claxton was a good backup to come in and change the pace....something he excelled at in last year's playoffs.   However, he 1) probably couldn't maintain that level of production getting starter's minutes, 2) played against backups or tired starters, and 3) didn't get the defensive attention that Parker did while on the floor.

I think the smog has pickled your brain...Kerr only played in 3 games against the Lakers for a grand total of 10 minutes.  He took...and missed....exactly one shot.  He also had 1 assist and 1 turnover.  Kerr came through big in the Dallas & Jersey series.

Please do not confuse Lurker with the facts -- we all know that Parker was clearly outplayed by those other players but he wants to continue his hero worship.

Let's look at those stats in a little different way:
Min.    FG%    3pt%   Reb.   Ass   Stl     TO       Pts
Parker    31      40.5      .33     2.8    3.5    1.0   1.17    14.8
Speedy   12      51.7      .00     1.5    2.2    .67    .67      6.5

And if Speedy would have played as many minutes as Parker?
                                             3.87  5.67  1.72  1.72    16.77

Yeah, you are right, Lurker, Parker was incredible.  Speedy took over the game and played at the end when the game was on the line.

Yeah, you are right, Lurker, Parker was incredible.  Speedy took over the game and played at the end when the game was on the line.
And Speedy is where right now?  Sitting at home watching the playoffs.  Obviously he should still be on the Spurs and Parker should have gone to Golden State.  I also missed Speedy on this year's all star team....he had to be there if he puts up those type of numbers in games.

Taking 12 minutes of playing time and projecting that for 35 minutes a game is ridiculous.  Based on that type of analysis then Kevin Willis should become our 3 pt specialist.  After all he was 1 for 1 last season in the playoffs.

At least I used facts.  All you did was take a small sample and project it over longer playing time....something that almost never plays out.  It doesn't take into account fatigue, defensive adjustments by the opponent or the law of averages.

Also I beleive that you are confusing 1 game with an entire series.  Speedy may have outplayed Parker in one game....but Parker obviously was the better player over the series.

Check into the smog crisis center, Steve Kerr killed the Rockets and/or Mavs.  I am a self admitted smog addict.

Lurker is talking about the Lakers-Spurs series and you change to Mavs.  Or is it Rockets.

WOW and Randy are officially dating.

I think 'Koast is in the mix somewhere with them.

LOL!  Your brain is completely engulfed in front runner juice if you can't follow why we're dicussing Kerr in different series.

Time to call it a day, you've stepped on your d!@k more than John Holmes.

That's Ok WOW....I understood your post.  Except for the Rockets part.  They weren't in the playoffs last year....but then to you Californians all Texas cities are the same.  Heck, I'd be surprised if you could even pick Texas out if showed a map of the U.S.

I heard getting into the Spurs bandwagon is kinda like a frat initiation.  Brings new meaning to the phrase 'bring out the brooms'.  We all know Lurker's avi brings shivers down your spine.
