Really haven't been to the movies much lately.

I do plan on Seeing Origins: Wolverine this week.  Will let you know.

I'm keeping this off the Wolverine=Trek thread for subject purposes.

The Red Violin.
Anyone see it?

I thought it was pretty good.  Didnt really care for the ending, nor Samuel Jacksons tired sterotyping yet again of rude angry black man.

Otherwise i liked a lot of it.  Will wait to comment to see if anyone has seen it or cares.

Great movie, I don't agree with you about the ending.  The ending was about carrying on the arc of the violin being valued for it's use vs it's monetary value.

I thought angry black Jackson was stealing it for monetary gain.  Plus some of the other bidders seemed to also value the Red its artsy value, not for resale profit.  Like the long silver haired guy who ran the shop (he also double roled as the guy who took they young kid from the monastery/orphange and taught him.)

If Jackson was indeed just trying to preserve the artsiness of the Red then yes I am okay with the ending.

Also, did not need to know what happened to brilliant playing little kid whom faggy King gave sleep potion to thus faking his death and the casket being staged, but would have liked to know.  I do not believe young kid became future red haired nude playing concerto as that seemed to be a much more future era.  Or did you take that to be little kid grown up?

Jackson stold it to give to his daughter as a present, I think it might have something to do with the original arc in that the violin is red because it's stained using the blood of the violin makers still born child.  It's been nearly 10 years since I saw the movie, some of it's hazy.

Wow, no wonder you make no sense, your eyes and ears do not translate information to your brain correctly.  The little kid died of heart failure or something, his teacher dug up his grave to steal the red violin and sell it since he didn't make any money off of teaching kid and then presenting the kid to the king for a 'reward'.  The stories had nothing to do with each other except for the violin.
