All that and the only players he actually compares him to are Redd and Green?

Why would he provide a list of 66 and then only really provide a thorough comparison to 2?

Cliff notes version:  Iguodala is the best option the Sixers have, has strengths and weaknesses, is slightly better than Redd overall, and Willie Green shouldn't be an NBA starter.

As I've said numerous times, the problem is not Iguodala at shooting guard, the problem is the combination of miller, Iguodala and Young on the perimeter.

I still don't see the problem.  We made the playoffs with a combination of Miller, Green, and Iguodala on the perimeter and Evans and Young playing PF last year (17-12 after the all-star break).  It worked totally fine because other than Iguodala, there was nobody a defense could specifically key on, and every single player had the ability to get to the hoop, even if they didn't always use it.  Replacing Green and the PF with Young and Brand is certainly going to make us a much better offensive team.  Even if a team zones up, like we saw a lot of last year, we have 4 guys on the floor who have shown competence in the post (and our effin center is the only one who hasn't -_-).  If a team dives to double team, a crisp pass to a cutter will often break it, and Iggy and Young are both good cutters, and Brand is a good passer.  As I have stated multiple times in the past, I don't think the lack of outside shooting will hurt this team nearly as much as people seem to think.

1) Making the playoffs is no longer the goal.  Winning a championship is.  It does become a problem in that context.
2) It didn't work totally fine.  We were mediocre (at best) in the half court.

We went 6 games against the Pistons.  I think we're much improved.  We're still a good running team, we're much improved defensively, and our half-court sets actually has a low-post game from somebody other than our PG.  No point in rehashing old arguments about winning a championship without a sharpshooter.  We'll just hafta see how the season plays out.

I am willing to wait and see how well the team does from the perimeter this year before passing judgment simply because I expect improvement from Iggy, Williams and Young on their perimeter shooting.  How much they will improve remains to be seen.  We should have better mid-range shooting and post-up play in the half-court from Brand and eventually from Speights.  We can always add bench players as three point specialists.  Miller will never be a very good perimeter shooter.

My suspicion is that we will see a much better half-court game and a somewhat better perimeter game this year, but I also suspect that this team will need to replace Miller with a PG who can shoot rather than re-signing him to an extension.

BTW, our half-court offense beyond dribble drives and lob passes was nearly non-existent last year and was severely exposed by a good defensive team in the playoffs.  Long term success/contention will likely require another shooter, probably at PG.

I agree with dabods...it's not Iguodala's outside shooting per se...it is his outside shooting in conjunction with Miller and Thad that I am worried about.  This is why I think it is ridiculous to extend Miller until 1) we get a better sense of whether a Miller/Iggy backcourt can get it done, and 2) we see if some kind of deadline deal provides us with a player who might be a better fit next to Iguodala (somebody like Hinrich, for example).

From 82games.com, a study that looks at 3pt shooting stats and tries to predict future performance:

http://www.82games.com/Adjusting.htm

Cites Iguodala as an underrated and possibly improving 3pt shooter
