Those MLBs who didn't take steroids
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:42:18 AM »
Pretty good read.  Minor league excellent prospects who never got called up because 'roid eaters played the same position on their parent team.  Ie: Giambi and Sheffield.  The one kid knocked 39 homers and didn't even get a call.  Other hit .371 and couldn't get a sniff.

If these guys were as good as they think they are, they would have gotten an opportunity somewhere.

Organizational filler.

39 HRs and .371 for a season.  I'm not super familiar with the minor leagues but i would think these kind of stats over a season have gotten tons of players looks in the non steroid era.  Will have to recheck and see at exactly which level they put these stats up.  Single A ball, yeah big deal probably many over the years have been stat kings at A level.  AA, Wow I'll bet very few have done this.  AAA fantastic, these stats should be auto MLB sniff.

How old is the guy...is he just a journeyman putting up big numbers?  Many teams basically use AAA for roster filler these days and the real prospects are at AA...plus there are things slightly more important than the batting average or home run counts
