Can anyone besides the Spurs successfully rep the West?
« on: June 18, 2008, 11:19:39 AM »
Outside of the Sac Kings in 2002*, the Spurs are the only team to successfuly rep the supposedly much stronger West in the Finals.
*post Shaq Lakers

Interesting that all 3 East Champs accomplished the feat in no small part by obtaining West players.
Detroit 2004 Sheed
Miami 2006 Shaq
Boston 2008 KG and Ray Allen

Will the West successfully be repped in 2009?
Hornets seem to be on nothing but the upswing.
Portland with a healthy Oden ready in '09?
The Collusionists should have Bynum back, and while Kobe never was never will be Jordan, one would think Byns really helps their frontline softness.
The Spurs seem to be taking a step back, but they have overcome Popavich in years past, and Ronny Artest is a FA who is said to be seeking a contender.  Altho he is also said to have Kobelove.
