Congrats Kansas and way to not foul, Memphis
« on: April 07, 2008, 11:19:42 PM »
Memphis still led 63-60 after Derrik Rose bricked one and hit one.
10 seconds left, Kansas inbounds the ball and works it upcourt.
Ballhandler comes just inside the threepoint arc, is going to spin around and pass it to the eventual 3 pt game tying shooter.  Wait.  For the love of goodness Memphis, right then and there, FOUL!  Would have been at best 2 FT attempts, ballgame.

What was t-h-a-t?

In college I would be more tempted to foul.

"And if not for that white greed"
"It would've endured"

Doesn't college have an intentional foul rule at the end of games?  Shot + ball back?

I must admit that I don't follow the college game as much any more.  All the best players leave after one year.  No time to develop a team.  And the alma mater doesn't mean crap when you get your education from 3 different schools.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

Yes, but if you even remotely make an attempt to go for the ball that overides and nullifies the "intentional" part.  You can hack away and the other team is looking at a one on one or a two shot foul if they are in the bonus, which i think Kansas was.  In fact you can even go for a guy without the ball and fake it enough to sell the ref that it was not "intentional", altho that is more risky.

So if Memphis fouls Sherr'Mari Collins before he passes the ball to Chalmers, it's two ft attempts.  Calapari claims Memphis did foul him.  It looks like Rose did foul him, but by bumping him just a mini second before the shovel pass.  Not obvious enough foul tho, he should have hacked at the ball.

Screw fouling...how about NOT BRICKING FTs when an important game is on the line?!?!?!?!

I wonder how many players the Sacramento Kings are going to draft from Memphis.
