With Pat Riley stating Duncan should be good for at least 4 more titles this is a good day for Spurses.

Too bad KG never took TD's stance of giving his teams a break on his salary so they could afford talent to build around him.

Um...

KG did take a pay cut his last extension.  Significant one, at that (I think he signed for 3 years, 516 million when he could have had 3 years, 90+ million)

His salary goes from 24.7 million in 2008-2009 to 16 million in 2009-2010.

Yup he did and they didn't do anything about it.  Although they did give him a decent team the year they made it to the WCF in their defense.

516 million?  WOW!  I'm guessing you meant 16 million.  So he gave back 70 million over 3 years, wonder why Minny didn't do anything with it, Cassell and Spree are not exactly what come to mind when I think of spending 70 million.

Maybe because the reduction doesn't take effect until 2009-10?
