Jerry West and Eddie Jones
« on: February 05, 2007, 04:07:40 PM »
I know Jerry West has been involved in some huge marketing projects in years past, but I don't see how the Eddie Jones transaction could be called anything but a huge failure.

Trades Posey and Jason Williams to the Heat, where they go on to help title in 2006.
Acqures Eddie Jones, where he shot the lowest of his career.
Now West and the Grizz pay his 15 mil salary as he bails to help the Heat rest of this season.

So what exactly did West give/get?  All to ship Jones back to the Heat and pay for it.

I would say it's a failure for the simple fact he ended up getting nothing in return really.

You can't predict that Posey would be so great off the bench (J-Will was a let down IMO last year) so I don't know if he should take the heat for that one.  Personally Posey is a different player in Miami then he was down south.
