No Webber at small forward? Well, he can't rebound inside with the big boys, even though he will get his 10 boards and close to 20 pts.
He's too slow on interior defense, and he's not the guy you want to funnel players to. He'd be even more outmatched at small forward on defense, but he'd be taller than most and make up for it on the offensive end.
Even with Dalembert back, we need a monster, stud of a power forward, an intimidator, a shot blocker, and a modest scorer. James Thomas, Michael Bradley, Deng Gui.
With Webber at Power forward, will the Sixers ever be a competitive rebounding team? Will they be able to handle the Pistons or the Pacers or even the Heat? If the answer is no, they need to find another solution.
Tradeing for Webber meant choosing offense over defence. It's something Larry Brown would probably have never done, but Billy King did it.
Fine by me, I was happy with that Sixer team going to the finals, but they won ugly. I'd much rather see an east coast version of Showtime, with Igoudala, Salmons and Iverson running the floor and burying teams in an avalanch of points, then see a game where teams score 15 pts in a quarter. Brown loves those kinds of games, as a fan, I can't stand the slow it down, walk it up, pound the other team into submission game.
