Sixers blow out the Knicks.

A preseason game is meaningless, but you can still see the teams play and get an idea of what they're capable of.

The Sixers were without Iverson, Webber and Dalembert.  The Knicks were at full strength, although Larry Brown was not on the bench.

It was a blow-out from the beggining with the Sixers ending the first quarter with nearly double the Knicks points.  Their defense forced turnover after turnover, and they executed very well offensively, with John Salmons and Kevin Ollie running the point, and distributing the ball.

The Knicks really are a bad team even with Marbury and Curry.  They are not going to win many games this year.  Larry is going to be sorry he left Detroit for this sorry bunch.

The Sixers looked to be in midseason form, executing well on offense, and pressuring the Knicks and beating them on the boards.

Salmons who will play backup scored 30 points, driving at will and drawing fouls.  Igoudala looks like a monster, bigger and stronger, and still just as quick.  Korver also looks much better, not simply shooting threes, but putting the ball on the floor and steping in for a jumper.

The team looks much deeper than they were last year, with Nailon and Hunter doing adequate jobs, at least against the Knicks.

Sixers look to be a decent team, but I'll have to wait to see them in action against an elite team in the regular season to see just how close they are to being able to compete.
