Alan Trammell fired by Tigers
« on: October 03, 2005, 01:16:24 PM »
I think this is the wrong decision.  He's a young manager (in terms of experience) and the Tigers continue to add the talent he needs to win.  He's made some questionable decisions (from a few of the Tigers' games I've seen), but, from what I've read, he's very popular with the players in the clubhouse.  He turned around a team that lost the most games in the history of the AL (119 losses in 2003) to a 72-game winner last season.  Someone should give him another chance.

I can't believe that Detroit fired my favorite Tiger of all-time.  Trammell got these guys on the right track.  What a joke.

Detroit deserves to go BACK into the cellar.

Concur.  Why don't they check Sparky Andersons record the 1st 3 years.

Tramell has a 30 game turnaround to get fired....

As a lifelong Tiger fan, who loved Alan Trammell, this is truely a dark day in Motown.  Was it Trammell's fault that Ordonez had a hernia?  Was it Trammell's fault that Percival blew up?  Was it Trammell's fault that they had one of the youngest pitching staffs in baseball?

A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself.
