So *baseball* is now safe, no more steroids the stats are all good from here on out.  So spouts Skip Bayless on The Jungle national talk radio today.

Love how MLB waits to *catch* a 40 year old who is about ready to retire, in the second half of the season when the Orioles are pretty much out of it.

Of course Bonds, Sosa, all the rest will remain untouched.  McGuire never was touched because MLB wanted it that way.

Don't lay this one on Baseball.  It did nothing for a long time, but not now.  I don't for a minute believe they "waited" to suspend him.

This one is all on Palmerio.  Baseball did what they said they would do.  Raffy was a potential 600-3000 guy, who was having his swan song and they still suspended him.  Not out of guts, but because it is what they said they would do.  I am stunned that he did this after testifying to a Congressional Committee, and denied every using steroids.  He is either very arrogant or very stupid.
A third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. A second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. A first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking.

A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself.

You know something?  I don't believe Palmeiro ever knowingly used steroids.  SERIOUSLY.

I honestly believe that the guy has no idea how/why he tested positive.  Otherwise, why bother to appeal?

So what did baseball do from 1990-today?  They waited.  Especially 1997 whan attendance was shot.  1998 McGuire, Sosa, etc pumping steroid balls out like never before.  Brent Boone becoming a 40 homer guy.

Bonds?  I know we agree on him.  The Balco expose will all get extended for 8 years by the lawers.  MLB will babble how they cannot do a thing due to Bonds rights, etc.  Nothing.  Zip.  Nada.

Palmero being caught.  Oh it's a small step in the right direction.  Very small and very late.  Wonder if Palmero failed to make a payoff installment.  Why did they start hardcore testing last year in the minors.  50 of them suspended.  3 in the big leauges?  Cmon zig, its a joke.  Oh by suspending minors it sets up a potentially less steroided MLB in 2007-beyond.  But they are not going to test any of the real Steroid Babies, McGuire, Bonds, Sosa.  That would mean the stats were/are all a scam.  MLB is a scam.  $$$ would stop or slow down.  Can't have that.  What will they now do with Raffys stats?  I predict nothing.

Supposing you were a NON steroid guy trying to make mlb or being in MLB 1996-2004.  You don't make it because you couldn't compete with the steroiders.  Or could you?  Yet you really were just as good (better?) then them.  Its bull.

Earth to Joe.  Guilty people can and do appeal.

Concur i was not in the room with Raffy.  I don't know for a fact he did steroids.
Circumstancial, Bonds McGuire Sosa Brent Boone Clemons.....yes.

I don't have the info in front of me, loaned my book out.  But I'll find it, posted before.  A professor in Arizona who is 65 and buffed.  Says he has taken steroids for 40 years.  Says used safely they are fine.
