I'm actually a little surprised by this.  I just assumed he would try and leverage more from the Wolves.

Spree is closing in on the end of his career and I think he recognizes when he has it good.  He is making enough money and strongarming the TWolves won't bode well when KG gave up cash to make the team better.  I think Spree made the right call.

This is what really makes me angry with Shaq -- Shaq is making a TON of money -- not just on the court, but in endorsements as well and then he insists on an extension for the max!  Kobe wants the max too (and he, IMO, deserves it more than Shaq because he will come to play [in shape] every night) and together they would bring the Lakers above the cap all by themselves.  Yeah, I know, Shaq says "I can bring in quality veterans who want a ring -- yeah, how many veterans are going to sign up to go through what GP and Malone went through this year to get blown out in the finals?  And how many veterans want Shaq to call them and say "you should take less money because I'm not willing to."  Yeah, that's going to happen!

Props to Spree for doing the right thing -- and the same to the TWolves and KG.  I don't think Spree would have had this attitude had it not been for the example KG set!
