Rating present coaches in the NBA -- anyone up to the task?

I will have to give this some thought when I have a litte more time (and my brain isn't fried from being so tired).  We saw some great coaching during the playoffs this year (Doc Rivers, for one) and we saw some poor coaching and then some just okay coaching.  Count Mike Brown as one of the poor ones -- a decent defensive coach who can't coach offense (does this sound familar these days?).  Even if you can't do all of them -- maybe just your own coach (great example is how well Collins did with Philly this year). 

Also, as a side note -- is anyone else surprised that someone couldn't lure Sloan back into coaching?  One of the best x/o's coaches in the league and people are hiring coaches that can't hold a candle to the guy!  I sure would have loved to see him come to LA -- of course, he would have killed Kobe and then he would have gone to jail but still, the guy could coach.

Coach Brown - Lakers
Grade - C-

I think Brown is a pretty good defensive coach when it comes to x's and o's.  I don't think he is great when it comes to adjusting (like Phil Jackson, for example -- one of the marks of a great coach, IMO).  He is a horrible offensive coach, a poor motivator and I don't believe that he connects well with players.  It also doesn't appear that he builds staff well Assistant Coaches either since it seems as if most of the Laker Assistants are bailing.  I have heard that he is good with individual instruction but it doesn't happen often because he doesn't connect with most players.

I was unhappy when the Lakers signed Brown -- I would have preferred the job be given to Shaw and give him a shot for his faithfulness to our organization.  I thought Brown was a horrible Coach in Cleveland -- he has just proven it in LA.  Also, I forgot -- he cowtows to star power.  He never held LeBron accountable and now he shows that he can't or won't when it comes to Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, etc.  We really miss Fisher's leadership on and off the court -- hopefully Nash brings that because with Fisher, the Lakers don't have a real leader.  Bryant challenges people with his play and barks at them but he isn't the leader Fisher was and neither is Mike Brown.
