That was Magic, auight
« on: April 25, 2011, 08:28:17 AM »
Hey, y'all:

Dwight Howard had the most invisible 29 points, 17 rebound perfomance I can recall in recent years. The Magic (and Van Gundy) are done.

Turkoglu was pitiful.

RB I think the only reason it seemed invisible is because the shooting performance of his teammates was so visible.   Orlando's shooters were dreadful.

Hey jn!

Yes, Orlando was hapless that game...even Howard, despite his awesome stat line diminished his performance because of his inability to stay on the floor due to dumb fouls.

It's obvious that 'the torch is being passed' (one of my most hated sports-related cliches) to the generation of players ushered in by LeBron - their entire outlook on how they comport themselves game- and otherwise is completely different than the Magic/Bird generation of players did. You know you're getting old when you look at guys like Earl the Pearl, Frazier, Kareem, Walton, et al. and think "man, does he look like a geezer!". Mirror, RB! LOL

That being said, I'm really impressed with the overall competitiveness of the first round of the playoffs. Even lowly Indiana could easily have been up 3-1 instead of down 1-3 on the Bulls. The Knicks got what they deserved for listening to Isiah for even 1 second.

SpursX3, I know that you need a 6-pack of Shiners now to drown your sorrows...cheer up, Howard is a free agent next year.

I haven't enjoyed the East as much as the west although you are correct, the Pacers put up a surprisingly good fight until last night.

Speaking of feeling old, Monty Williams is definitely making me wonder where time goes.  I was talking with a coworker and he agreed.  We both have been thinking, "wait a minute, didn't Williams retire like two years ago?  Is he eve 30 years old yet?"

Ah well....Nothing you can do.  I guess I'll just have to drag my now 40 year old self out onto the court tomorrow night for the league I just joined and hope nothing breaks.  :o
