The Sixers had no problem with the Knicks even though the game went into OT, don't confuse ability or talent with strange coaching. It's still early and the Sixers look very good, the coach should be allowed some leeway in deciding on his rotation. I'd like to see it done in a more systematic way, however, as different players should be getting the minutes that are available, and not playing the young ones is a bad thing after they have shown ability. Beating the Knicks like a drum was a good hint for the Phillies.
The Eagles did even better, as they managed to make the Giants look absolutely awful on both sides of the ball. Eli Manning threw up interceptions, special teams gave up fumbles, the defense got torched on two running plays that got into the end zone. Donovan McNabb looked fantastic throwing the ball to 3 different players for 3 TD's, 240 yds. and no interceptions. 40-17 blowout.
Then the Phillies blew the trifecta, letting the Yankees take the lead right back after the Phillies had tied the game. A few more runs and the game was over, why the Phillies are buying into the Rivera mystique is beyond me.
Anyway Monday is another game with out stud player Cliff Lee on the mound, and that should help. I realized the Yankees are a good team, but I also think the Phillies have some fight in them. Their bats need to wake up enough for the Yankees to feel shell-shocked tonight to put some zing back into the series from their perspective. They are still World Champions right now, and they can still be after tonight is over.
