He wasn't as bad as people are going to say he was...and his wife was headed into labor.
My problems yesterday are with the fact that the manager of the phillies managed the game like it was game 7 of the WS and not game of a series in which they had a 1-0 lead...if he has that little faith in his bullpen this team is screwed anyway.
Hamels pitched well enough for the phillies to win- he still seemed a victim of seeing eye singles and the offense let themselves be dominated too long by the mediocre Aaron Cook.
Didn't expect a sweep - Hamels wasn't good but he wasn't terrible - but the concerns now are what the hell happens in Colorado, when will jimmy rollins pull his head out of his ass, will Chase Utley ever find his first half plate coverage, and what the hell was charlie manuel thinking.
The best thing that could happen is a snow out or two which pushes back the schedule and allows Cliff Lee to pitch on normal rest in game 4 (on Monday)
