What an escape job by the Spurs to get past New Orleans in OT thus make it all the way to #3.  Thanks for the help, Houston (losing to Dallas).

zig you get to host the Rockets.  Nice.

You don't sound so excited...is it because Findawg hit the game tying 3 with no time left?  Or the fact that Pop-a-cement coached the Spurs into a tie for the second best record in the west?

^^ what pathetic D by David West and the Hornets at large, including failing to foul Mase when he put the ball on the floor.
You think we'll be gifted that kind of retardation defense in the playoffs.

Certainly not against Phil.

It's all about the Championship, Lurker.

Nice trey shot by Fins.  Nice previous 17 footer to close it to -3.

Or maybe it was that Pop drew up the right play for that time.

And there isn't a coach in the league that fouls when their team is up by three with 10 seconds left.  Only pre-schoolers would believe that to be a smart strategy.

Nate as coach of the year?  No way, it will go to Mike Brown or Stan Van Gundy.  No individual awards for the Blazers, except perhaps all-NBA 3rd team for Brandon Roy.

That game last night epitomizes our season.  We absolutely shot the lights out.  Just like last year in our 17-1 streak.  If we shoot well we are very very tough to beat.  Our 5 starters played only 24 minutes apiece last night, so the other 7 played the other 120 minutes.  Those 7 bench players in 120 minutes scored 72 points, and Denver's entire roster playing 240 minutes scored 76.  If we can get close to that quality of performance from Outlaw, Fernandez, Oden, Rodriguez, and Frye in the playoff then we will be a very tough opponent for just about any team.

Last 16 games we are 13-3 with an average win differential of 12.5 Points.
Last 2 months we are 22-8 (.733 or a 60 win pace), with an average win differential of 8.5 points.  That was 16 at home 14 on the road, 14 games against playoff teams.  In just the last 2 months we crushed SAS, LAL, Phx, Denver, Utah.

We had the following losing streaks (none more than 3 games)
1.)  @ Phx, @ Utah
2.)  Home vs Orlando, @ Utah, Hv Clippers
3.)  Hv NOH, @ LAL
4.)  @ Dal, @ OKC
5.)  @ Houston, @ SA Spurs

It was a very good regular season, after about 8 very long years in the wilderness.

A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself.

^^ yeah the pundits.  ::)  Last night when seeding was still jostling, Avery Johnson was asked if not having home court would hurt the Spurs.
"Not against a team like the Blazers".

Excuse me?  With the stats you showed what makes Avery think Portland is such a pushover at the Rose Gardern/Microsoft Center (whatever its called).
