Portlands unwarranted hype

They went on a pretty impressive winning streak this year
They DIDN"T have the presumptive Rookie of the Year and the best big man to enter the league in a long time
they went 41-41
They have an owner willing to spend cash, a smart GM and (seemingly) the best accumulation of young talent in the NBA.

I haven't heard anyone scream OMG THEY"RE GOING TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP until you do it, what I have heard is that portland has a very bright future for a very long time if things break as expected.

And they do...period...if you wouldn't trade the entire sixers franchise for the blazers franchise top to bottom (except for, you know, name of team and city) I'm not sure what to say, pritchard is a fine GM and allen is a classy owner flush with cash not answerable to stock holders as much as the sixers.

Apparently, DiLeo said the Sixers had a deal to get Jordan if he slipped one more pick.

And we were That Close... (to getting a stiff back-up center)

Seriously, I would have been ecstatic to get Jordan with a 2nd round pick.

I guess we will have to wait until next year to start grooming Sam's replacement for when his contract expries in three years.
