Or as they are called today, displays.

LakerFan Dan and others techno boardies,
could you make yourself useful and have some continued good computer takes.
Specifically, I'd like to know if there is a good reliable used source for View Sonics, NECs or other excellent LCD flat screens.

I think i have all the goodies on best places for new ones but feel free to add if you do.

Used... ubid.com has some manufactures refurbished units that they have a warranty on.  Picked up one for real cheap for my mom about a year and a half back and she has not had a single problem with it.  Kinda like an ebay deal where you try to outbid others.  Shouldn't have any problem finding what you want though.

New?  I like to order my stuff from CDW.com (partially because that is what we use at work and I am buddy buddy with a rep who hooks me up).  They have good prices and they ship quickly if the item is in stock.  Or Frys, I forget where the Frys in SD is but I am sure you know.

Viewsonic is the way to go.  That is the only brand I order for our office and the only brand we use company wide (we have over 750 viewsonic monitors company wide).  We rarely have problems with them and there are boat loads of repair places all over Southern California is something does pop up.  Both there CRT and LCD monitors are great (in fact I am looking at your thread on a 19" viewsonic lcd)

It's for someone who wants 10, thus they thought the used might be an okay way to go.  Only place we found sells em in bunches of 150.

I used to have the ultimate ViewSonic hookup.  Factory direct.
No more.  I would also like to find a new(er) ViewSonic 19" or 20"
Am baffled by the muriad of choices within Viewsonic.

You might be able to get 10+ from Ubid.com when I ordered the unit for my mom they had 4 in stock and then 2 weeks later I saw they had a few more.  Got a 19" LCD for under 300 at a time when they were still pretty damn pricey.

The one I am on right now, VG900B has built in speakers, 19" LCD, good picture, I forget the max resolution but it is high enough for MOST video cards.  A few of the higher end ones may be able to do much higher resolution than the monitor supports but I highly doubt you or your friend have a card that expensive.

Motherlode for myself.
One day only sale at Frys Electronics.  ViewSonic 902s, blowout making way for newer 920b.
Since 902s were gone in 4 hours, manager let me have a 920b 19" for the same price.
$189 before tax n tip.

It does include a $50 rebate (239-50) and i hate rebates, but who is complaining about new $189.  Not me.
